Watch: Reds’ season saved by amazing home run robbery

Noelvi Marte may have saved the Cincinnati Reds’ season with an unbelievable catch at Great American Ballpark to take a home run away from the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bryan Reynolds on Thursday, Sept. 25.

With the Reds leading 2-1 in the top of the ninth, Reynolds drove a pitch from Cincinnati closer Emilio Pagan all the way to the right field wall – where Marte leaped and reached over the fence to make the catch to preserve the one-run win.

The win pulled the Reds to within a half-game of the Mets for the third NL wild-card spot, with New York facing the Chicago Cubs later on Thursday night. Cincinnati holds the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Mets, meaning a tie in the standings would result in the Reds coming out on top.
